The Mantra Discord is an instrumental progressive rock and math rock band from Southern California. They also combine atmospheric elements of post rock and jazz to create their own unique blend of sound. The band consists of Jeremy Arcibal (Drums) and Russ Weisenthal (Guitars).

The whole album is a treat for Prog/Post rock lovers. People that love great leads & melodies over atmospheric sound, must go listen to The Mantra Discord. I am telling you this is worth your time!

So, lets now jump in reviewing my favorite songs of the album.

The album starts with a beautiful ambient intro called “Attrist” which includes great leads.

The second song “Overture of October” is my favorite! Beautiful ambient clean reverb riffs paired with great leads. What else could we ask for!  Catchy, emotional & just beautiful.

The third song of the album called “Dancing Through the Darkest Clouds” is another great one. Indeed, this song, in a good pair of headphones, will make you float in clouds or even dance for some, whatever makes you happy ha-ha 😊 The song creates a nice atmosphere. Just the right amount of reverb on guitars paired with beautiful piano lines.

The song right after called “Villainous Bliss” was just mesmerizing! Although technical, nonetheless melodic and enjoyable to listen to. This one reminded me of Tim Henson playing from the band Polyphia.

Finally, “Relapse Into Silence” is also the album main title and the last song of their album. It might be their last song but is in no way less impressive & beautiful. That one gave me goosebumps. What a nice conclusion!  I mentioned the second song was my favorite of the album, well I must admit I am not 100 % sure anymore. Probably because the whole album is kind of like one long & beautiful song.
