They have shared the stage with reputable bands like Kamelot, Evergrey, Evanescence & In Flames just to name a few.

Although, ArseA is mostly considered a Power Metal band, right from when I started listening to their latest album called “Order of Mantis” released July 29,2022, I could undeniably hear the Prog Metal influences. Influences & sounds that reminded me of Bands like Dream Theater & Haken. Both well known & appreciated by the Prog/Power Metal community. Since I am a big fan of Dream Theater, I must admit I was sold!

Since personal tastes are indeed personal, you might not agree 100 % with my selections & preferences. So i invite you to listen the entire album & make your own opinion. However, let me say the entire album is a treat based on my humble opinion!

So, lets now jump in reviewing my favorite songs of the album.

The album starts with a nice intro called “Prologue” which makes listeners getting ready for the journey.

The second song “Eternal Embrace” start strong! Heavy and tasteful guitar riffs with powerful vocals. Just the way I like it. Heavy but still very catchy and emotional. After listening for 5 times in a row, I have to say this one is magnificent & is one of my favorites. As if it wasn’t enough already, @ approximately 3:45 a powerful and tasteful guitar solo kicks in… Ok, now I will admit that part of the song gave me goosebumps!

The fifth song of the album called “Order of Mantis” which is the album title as well, deliver once again a heavy performance which reminds me of Symphony X. Probably because of the way the song is singed & let’s not forget the Progy guitar riffs.  The song structure is indeed very well laid out. Catchy & powerful. Good job on this one! It brought me back in my early twenties when I felt in love with Prog & Power metal music. So, thank you for that ArseA 😊

The song right after called “Lullaby” was just mesmerizing! Although heavy, the song was indeed just like a lullaby. It made me so relax & in a good mood!

Finally, “Unfair” is what every Power Metal Fans would expect. Epic, emotional and Heavy! I personally really like the bass run paired with tasteful piano and heavy guitar riffs. This song features special guest “Tom S. Englund” best known for being the vocalist and guitarist of Evergrey.  The way the song is sang all the way through is just stunning & beautiful! Congrats on having him part of your project.

In conclusion, I must admit I am usually really picky on singers’ voices since I am more of an instrumental kind of musicians myself. However, I have to say I really enjoyed the singing on this album. Just powerful & beautiful, JUST WOW! The talent and professionalism of the musicians on this album is impressive. I encourage and invite all to have a listen. You won’t be disappointed. I loved it so much that i added one of their songs to my Power Metal Symphony playlist.
